Strength Training
Increase Your Lean Muscle
Our facility has a large training center dedicated to weight training. The area includes: Hammer, Nautilus, Body Master, Life Fitness, and various workout stations with Olympic plates and bars. The area allows you to train individual body parts without overcrowding and long lines of members waiting to utilize the same piece of equipment.
We also have a new, Women's only training center, that is dedicated to our female members from 4:00 PM to closing (M–F) and all day on the weekends. This room includes cardio equipment, Nautilus circuit and large screen televisions.
As we age, if we do not work out, we lose muscle mass. The quickest way to change the shape of your body is through progressive weight training. This process of muscle loss starts at the age of 25! This is when most men and women start seeing their body-fat levels increase. From the early thirties to your mid-sixties, the average American's body fat percentage often doubles from 18% to 36%. As we age we get fatter. We lose muscle mass and strength. We become fragile, weak and prone to disabilities.
Recent university studies show that weight training can make a significant contribution to the quality of life for everyone, even those in their senior years. At CPHFC, we provide for every new member a one-hour orientation with a certified personal trainer, who has a college degree. During this training time, you receive personal instruction on how to utilize strength training equipment as part of a more comprehensive program. You also may purchase a Polar Body Age Assessment, which measures your current cardiovascular conditioning, body fat percentage, flexibility, blood pressure, and muscular strength. You will receive a 15-page report that compares you to the ideal man or women your age. It is a great way to measure your current fitness level when you begin a new wellness program at our club.
