History
In business for 32 years
Central Penn Health and Fitness center has been in operation since 1979. The concept was developed by two local physicians. The center first opened its doors at 450 Powers Avenue in 1982. The objective of the club was to promote fitness and wellness programs to the community. At the time, the center included many spa-like facilities and amenities.
In 1989, a new eight-lane Olympian size pool was constructed with a Jacuzzi. In addition, racquetball, volleyball, Olympic weights, and group exercise classes were incorporated into the program offerings. In 2003, the facility expanded to include personalized exercise prescriptions and nutritional counseling. In 2008, a tremendous renovation took place that included a remodeling of the locker rooms, building of a children’s area, development of a women-only fitness center, and a state-of-the-art cardiovascular area. Two large Aerobics studios were designed with a great view of the aquatics center. The name was changed to Central Penn Health and Fitness Center.
The 40,000 square foot club has a strong social network of many friends who have exercised here together for the past 20+ years.
Trainer Profile
Kim Heck
My philosophy as a personal trainer is that we all must find the right balance. This means balance with muscular strength, physical endurance, nutrition, flexibility & rest. All of my clients come to me with different goals and different needs. It is my job to get all of these components back in balance, with the appropriate intensity in each category to achieve the goals set for each person.
